Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the PropTaxLab website (proptaxlab.com) and services. PropTaxLab is operated by Enduring Retail Audit, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("PropTaxLab," "we," "us," "our"). By using our website or purchasing our services, you agree to these terms.
1. Overview of Services
PropTaxLab offers property tax protest services for residential properties in Harris County, Texas (HCAD jurisdiction). We offer two service tiers:
iSettle Pack ($99/year): A self-service package that includes a professional evidence package, recommended opinion of value, pre-written iSettle submission comments, and step-by-step filing instructions. You are responsible for filing the protest with HCAD yourself.
Full Service (20% of savings): We act as your authorized representative to file and manage your property tax protest with HCAD, including evidence preparation, iSettle submission, negotiation, and hearing representation if necessary.
2. iSettle Pack Terms
Pricing and Payment
The iSettle Pack is $99 per year (or $149 for Express delivery). Payment is processed through Stripe at the time of purchase. Referral pricing ($69/$119) is available only through authorized referral links.
Delivery
Standard delivery: within 3 business days of payment. Express delivery: within same business day during business hours (Mon–Fri 8am–6pm CT). Delivery is via email to the address you provide at checkout.
Guarantee
We guarantee the iSettle Pack will save you more than $99 in annual property taxes. If it does not, contact us within 90 days of your HCAD protest resolution for a full refund of the purchase price. You must have submitted the evidence package to HCAD as instructed to qualify for the guarantee.
Auto-Renewal
Your iSettle Pack subscription automatically renews each year at the then-current price. We will email you at least 14 days before renewal. Cancel anytime by emailing hello@proptaxlab.com — cancellations take effect before the next renewal date.
Your Responsibility
With the iSettle Pack, you are responsible for filing the protest, submitting the evidence, and responding to HCAD. PropTaxLab provides the research and materials; you handle the filing. We are not responsible for the outcome of protests you file yourself.
3. Full Service Terms
Fee Structure
Our fee is 20% of first-year property tax savings. "Savings" means the tax difference between HCAD's original appraised value for the current tax year and the final resolved value, multiplied by the applicable combined tax rate. If there are no savings, you owe nothing. Payment is due within 30 days of invoice, which is sent after your protest is resolved.
Agent Authorization
By agreeing to the Full Service terms on our website, you authorize PropTaxLab to act as your agent with HCAD, including: filing protests, accessing your HCAD account, submitting evidence, negotiating iSettle offers, and representing you at informal hearings and Appraisal Review Board (ARB) hearings. We will seek your approval before accepting settlement offers more than 5% above our recommended opinion of value. You may revoke this authorization at any time in writing.
Auto-Renewal
The Full Service agreement renews automatically each tax year. Cancel anytime by emailing hello@proptaxlab.com at least 30 days before the next protest season (typically by March 1). If you cancel before any services are rendered for the upcoming year, you owe nothing for that year.
4. Referral and Credit Program
Credits earned through our review, social media, and referral program are applied automatically to your next billing cycle. Credits have no cash value and cannot be refunded, transferred, or redeemed for cash. Credits expire if your account is cancelled. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the credit program at any time.
5. What We Are Not
We are not a law firm. PropTaxLab does not provide legal advice. Our services are limited to property tax protest preparation and representation before HCAD and the Appraisal Review Board. If you need legal advice regarding property taxes or any other matter, consult a licensed attorney.
We are not licensed appraisers. Our opinions of value are based on publicly available market data and comparable sales analysis. They are prepared for the sole purpose of supporting your property tax protest and should not be used for any other purpose, including mortgage lending, estate planning, or litigation.
We do not guarantee outcomes. While we prepare the strongest possible case using available data, HCAD and the ARB make independent decisions. We cannot guarantee that your property value will be reduced by any specific amount, or at all.
6. Limitation of Liability
PropTaxLab's total liability to you for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount of fees you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost tax savings, regardless of cause.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on proptaxlab.com — including text, graphics, design, and code — is owned by PropTaxLab / Enduring Retail Audit, LLC. Evidence packages and reports we prepare for you are licensed for your personal use in protesting your property taxes. You may share them with HCAD, the ARB, or your own advisors, but you may not resell, distribute, or commercially exploit them.
8. Accuracy of Information
You agree to provide accurate and complete information when using our services. This includes your correct name, property address, contact information, and any property condition details. Inaccurate information may affect the quality of your evidence package and the outcome of your protest.
9. Website Use
You may use our website for its intended purpose — learning about property tax protests and purchasing our services. You may not use automated tools to scrape content, submit fraudulent forms, or interfere with the website's operation. Content on this website, including blog posts and guides, is for informational purposes and does not constitute legal, tax, or financial advice.
10. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services will be resolved through binding arbitration in Harris County, Texas, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Each party bears its own costs. You waive the right to participate in class action lawsuits or class arbitration.
11. Modifications
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with updated terms, you may cancel your service.
12. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
