How do I cancel my current firm?

You don't have to. When we file your protest, we submit a new Form 50-162 (Appointment of Agent) with HCAD, which automatically replaces your old firm as your representative. No cancellation calls, no paperwork, no awkward conversations. Just sign up with us and the new filing overrides your previous agent. The only thing to check: make sure your current firm hasn't already filed a 2026 protest, since HCAD only allows one per property per year.

Can I switch mid-season?

Yes — as long as your current firm hasn't already filed a protest for 2026. If they haven't filed yet, just sign up and we'll take over automatically via Form 50-162. If they have already filed, you'll need to let them finish this year and switch to us for 2027. Not sure? We can check your HCAD account for you.

Will my protest quality drop with a lower rate?

No — our lower rate reflects our focused, efficient operation, not lower quality. What if I'm locked into a contract?

Texas law allows you to replace your agent at any time by filing a new Form 50-162 — which we do automatically when you sign up. Most property tax protest contracts can't actually prevent you from switching agents. The only limitation is if they've already filed a protest for the current year. Review your agreement if you're concerned, but in most cases you can switch right now with no issues.

PropTaxLab Full Service Agreement

This agreement is between you ("Client") and PropTaxLab, operated by Enduring Retail Audit, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("PropTaxLab").

Services. PropTaxLab will: file a property tax protest with HCAD on your behalf as your authorized agent; research and prepare a comprehensive evidence package; negotiate through iSettle and represent you at informal and ARB hearings if necessary; and provide you with copies of all evidence used.

Fee. You agree to pay 20% of first-year property tax savings. "Savings" = the tax difference between HCAD's original market value and the final settled value, multiplied by the applicable combined tax rate. If there are no savings, you pay nothing. Payment is due within 30 days of invoice.

Agent Authorization. You authorize PropTaxLab to file protests, access your HCAD account, submit evidence, and represent you in hearings. PropTaxLab will seek your approval before accepting settlement offers more than 5% above the recommended opinion of value.

Auto-Renewal. This agreement renews automatically each tax year. Cancel anytime by emailing hello@proptaxlab.com at least 30 days before the next protest season. If you cancel before any services are rendered, you owe nothing.

No Guarantees. PropTaxLab does not guarantee any specific outcome. Results depend on HCAD's review, market conditions, and available evidence. PropTaxLab is not a law firm or licensed appraiser.

Liability. Total liability limited to fees paid. Texas law governs. Disputes resolved by binding arbitration in Harris County, TX.
